Your friends banner is pretty. I like your layout. :)
6th-Jan-2007 06:20 am (UTC)
Thanks. You're welcome to use it if you give me credit. I like the idea behind your random posting. It made me smile.
6th-Jan-2007 06:22 am (UTC)
Thanks. :) I'll never go friends only though. Otherwise I would consider it.

And I'm glad. :) Smiles are awesome, and if I can help aid any along the way, I'm happier for it.

You have finally come over to the dark side, my child. Oh, wait, isn't that what you told me? Lol. The header and FO banner look extremely classy, and if you ever need any kind of graphics help from me, I'd be glad to help. I have no idea how to mess around with your calendar though, good luck :/
9th-Jan-2007 01:10 am (UTC)
Thanks. I always need graphics help! The only thing on photoshop I have mastered is cropping, brushes, and pasting. That's it. I'm trying to make icons now and have mixed results.

Yeah, I guess I have to keep updating the FO banner post every month to keep it on top.
22nd-Jan-2007 12:51 am (UTC)
Hey, just a quick note to let you know that I noticed you using a familiar icon in the cruellyhandsome community. Familiar because I created it!

You have somebody else credited, which means that individual stolzed it from me and claimed it as their own. I certainly don't mind if people use my icons, but I would very much appreciate it if you altered the credit listing back to me! Thanks!
24th-Jan-2007 01:05 am (UTC)
I am truly sorry. I have used this icon a lot and it is one of my favorite Magneto icons. I do not believe the user I credited is at fault. I think the error is entirely my own.

When I was a newbie back in June I found a lot of Magneto icons I liked, saved them, and didn't write down who had made them. Once I realized I was wrong for doing this I tried to match the icons back with who I thought had made them and I made a mistake with this icon.

I've switched the icon credit to the correct one and I'm going to make a public apology on my LJ. If there's anything else you would like me to do I'll be happy to do it. Again, I'm sorry.
24th-Jan-2007 01:13 am (UTC)
That is perfectly understandable, and I'm not mad or anything! I love that you like it enough to use it, and there's certainly no apology necessary.

Mostly I just wanted to make sure my stuff wasn't being intentionally taken. Also, I make new icons from time to time and mine is not exactly a high-traffic LJ, so I suspect the way most people find them is through keyword linkage.

ANYWAY, I very much appreciate you switching the credit around, and again, don't worry about it!
24th-Jan-2007 01:27 am (UTC)
I think I found the icon on one of the X-Men icon communities, but I could have found it through demented_allure. I'm sorry about the mix up. I hope I haven't miscredited any of my other Magneto icons. Oh and I posted a public apology. Sorry about miscrediting. I am happy to hear people are reading the cruellyhandsome community.
24th-Jan-2007 01:34 am (UTC)
I do occasionally post to icon communities, so that is entirely possible. And again, no worries!

Well thank goodness I'n still a freind...*wink*...
11th-Feb-2007 05:51 am (UTC) - RE: Unknown Poem
Just an FYI. The lovely poem you have titled as unknown is actually part of a song from the musical the Scarlet Pimpernel. The song is Where's the Girl. Its song by Chavelin to Marguarite in an attempt to woe her to his side.

Love the Magneto/Rogue fan fiction! I really enjoy this pair. To bad others do not.
22nd-Feb-2007 02:21 am (UTC) - Re: Unknown Poem
Thanks for the tip about the song. I'm ashamed to admit I actually found it on one of my friends' AIM profiles.

I'm curious how you found my journal and fan fiction.
24th-Feb-2007 06:03 am (UTC) - RE: Your Welcome
To tell you the truth I can't quite remember. I was browsing some x-man fic somewhere and found Healing and fell in love with the whole Magneto/Rogue dyamic. As for finding your journal I found it off your fan fiction net account.

I'm loving every minute of it, but finding all the songs that go along with it is turning out to be a bitch. Oh, well patience and all that crap! :)

Oh, if you can I highly recommend getting a hold of the Scarlet Pimpernel Broadway soundtrack. Terrance Mann as Chavelin just makes me melt!
27th-May-2007 08:44 am (UTC)
Cool banner; very pretty. I like the layout, too.
27th-May-2007 08:48 am (UTC)
You're welcome to take if you like.

It's from the movie My Blueberry Nights which premiered at Cannes last week. I'm a fan of the director Wong Kar Wai's movies so I'm waiting in eager anticipation for it play in the states. It's a traveling movie that tells the story of several characters love lives.
27th-May-2007 09:57 am (UTC)
Ahh, interesting. I'm not so into romance, and I've never heard of that director, but the banner's very nice. ^_^

Oh, I friended you; just so's you know. ^__^
27th-May-2007 10:02 am (UTC)
He's a very cynical romance director; there's a lot of heartbreak in his films. Some of his more popular films include In the Mood for Love and 2046.

That's cool. I mostly post X-Men stuff and meta. But I love making new firends.
27th-May-2007 10:11 am (UTC)
That's cool. I mostly post meta, at least when I bother to post at all. I write a lot of fanfic, so I'm not really that active on LJ, unless I'm looking for fic to read.

Or meta. ^_~

Hey!

I'm a huge Patrick Stewart fan along with Ian McKellen. And the two slashed together is pure love. I have a definite thing fo hot, older British men. Especially together.

Old ST: NG episodes are so much fun to watch. Everyone of them is hilarious. They're my TV comfort food. And I could listen to Patrick Stewart read a phone book. His voice is so sexy. I'd love to see him in a Shakespeare play like I saw Ian.

I friended you back. Hope that's okay.

Sir Derek is one of my favorites too. Please send me a link to that story. It sounds to die for. God, I really do love older British Shakespearean actors. They are a "fandom" to me.

Did you know that Ian McKellen had a crush on Derek Jacobi when they both went to Cambridge together? And that Derek had a crush on Ian and neither acted on it? This makes me desperately want to write or read RPS of them together.

Patrick's voice gives me shivers. It's just so commanding, sexy, and his accent is gorgeous.

Ian was great in Lear. Though we had lousy seats and missed some of the subtleties of his performance. I'm waiting till it comes out on video so I can see closeups of his facial expression.

(Oh and he stripped fully nude in Act III. I can now die happy.)

I read that Stewart's MacBeth is coming to the U.S. in February. I'd love to go see it but it's so expensive to fly to NY and book a hotel room. I want to go sooo bad though.

Hey I just read your story, "Healing" (I'm a little slow on the uptake, I know). Great stuff, I really enjoyed it!
11th-Nov-2008 03:08 pm (UTC) - Re: Healing
I'm really happy you liked it. I added you as a friend so you can read my friends-only posts. Though there's not a lot I post flocked.
11th-Nov-2008 07:39 pm (UTC) - Re: Healing
Thanks, I appreciate it!! :)
11th-Nov-2008 09:09 pm (UTC) - Re: Healing
I was really excited to hear that you read more story. I'm always to see it still get readers and hits on the FF.net. It's cool to see more X-Men fans out there, as there's not a lot going on in the fandom right now.
11th-Nov-2008 11:50 pm (UTC) - Re: Healing
Oh I'm a huge Xmen fan (as well as pretty much anything with Ian McKellen!), but I've just recently found the FF.net community. It's a great way to kick back and relax after hours of grueling homework! I have to say, though, I've read a few stories here and there, but yours is by far the best yet. Your plot is consistent characters are true to the movies and, most importantly, believable (I almost said "human," but that would be a lie, wouldn't it?). Are you still living in Fitzgerald's old apartment?
12th-Nov-2008 05:03 am (UTC) - Re: Healing
Obviously, I'm a huge McKellen fan too. genkaishihan, kumadapuma, and I went to NYC to see him perform King Lear and got his autograph.

Thank you so much for the compliment. Just reading that made my day a whole lot better.

Magneto/Rogue or Rogneto is a really rare pairing. There aren't all that many writers. I really like sionnain's work. I think she does great stuff. There are tons of great writers (far better than me) here on livejournal. I hope you've found the demented_allure community which has stories not posted to FF.net

I'm no longer living in F. Scott Fitzgerald's apartment. It was actually turned into dorms/apartments for Johns Hopkins University and I lived in one while I attended school there. Fitzgerald had the entire floor which the school sub divided into four apartments. But it was still pretty cool. There was a plaque outside and Firzgerald actually wrote a short story about living in that apartment.
12th-Nov-2008 04:10 pm (UTC) - Re: Healing
Lucky!! I remember when I was in England a couple years ago; the Royal Shakespeare Company had posters up everywhere for Lear, but it was like 9 months away. I did get to see Patrick Stewart play Prospero in The Tempest, though. So tell me, how fantastic was it? I've always envisioned King Lear is a perfect role for him! I wanted to see it when it went on tour in the US, but the tickets sold out before I could get one.

It is such a rare pairing, and one that I hadn't thought of before. I haven't found many pairings with Magneto, but I also have only recently just started looking. I've not found the community yet, so thanks! I'm definitely going to head over there and check it out!!

That's awesome. I'm an English grad student, so all literary connections are awesome to me! I've only ever read The Great Gatsby, but I'm hoping to tackle more Fitzgerald in the future.
12th-Nov-2008 05:13 pm (UTC) - Re: Healing
I saw King Lear when it went on tour in the US. All the good tickets had sold out and we were in the last row, which kind of detracted from it. We were so far away you couldn't really see very well, which sucked. Still, it was amazing, Ian was very powerful especially at the end of the fifth act when he's holding his Cornelia's body. His portrayal of an old man whose lost his once formidable power is heart-wrenching. (Oh, and did you know he strips down for a full frontal nude!) We rushed out of the theater afterward and got his autograph and pictures with him.

Stories with Magneto as the main character are certainly rare. After Magneto/Rogue, there are several with Magneto/Mystique and lots with Magneto/Professor Xavier. Occasionally you see Magneto/Jean Grey which is very good. I'll send you some recs if you want.

I've only really read Gatsby also. But it's so good, I have to imagine everything else by him is equally as amazing.
13th-Nov-2008 06:20 am (UTC) - Re: Healing
That's so cool. I really wish I could have gone. I have heard of that infamous nude scene (I believe Ian Holm also did it a few years back). I've also heard Ian is quite *ahem* blessed. I think Ian would be so cool to meet in person!

Speaking of Ian on stage, did you hear that he and Patrick Stewart are starring together in Waiting for Godot (in Edinburgh, I think)? Hopefully it'll make its way to this side of the pond!

I'd love some recommendations! I'm going to be in need of a break from writing my paper pretty soon!
14th-Nov-2008 01:42 am (UTC) - Re: Healing
I can die happy. I've seen Ian in the nude and I can say his boyfriends must be very happy.

Yeah, I just heard about the Waiting for Godot performance. It's sounds incredible with Ian and Patrick Stewart. What a production that must be! I read that it's not going to tour outside the UK however, so I doubt I'll get to see it.

I'll put together a recommendations post. I've also got some good stories saved in my memories (which are a mess). I also have a delicious account (also a mess). I just never take the time to weed through these bookmark accounts. There's also my C2 community for Magneto fic on FF.net called Magnetophile. Also not updated (in a year).

15th-Nov-2008 08:51 pm (UTC) - Re: Healing
Haha! Go Ian!

Yeah, as much as I love England, Ian and Patrick aren't quite enticing enough to drain my bank account to go see them. Almost, though, but not quite.

Awesome, thank you! Ha, I read "delicious account" and at first thought "delicious how?" then I realized what you meant.
