I was reading through some old KotOR stories that had been updated yesterday so I figured it was time I post a rec list.
KotOR, if you're unfamiliar with it, is a Star Wars video game for XBOX and PC that came out in 2004 (I think?). It won Game of the Year. Even if you're not a Star Wars fan you might enjoy the game since it has a very good storyline. It's an RPG style game and it's old enough that it's probably only $7 now, so if you're bored, it's worth checking out.
KotOR stories I've loved over the years
(Heavy on the LSF Revan and LSF Exile)
(In alphabetical order)A Mandolorian's Promise
by Mother Mayhem
One of the few fics that pairs Revan with Canderous. It's over a 100,000 words long and remains original and interesting throughout. After the Fall
Probably one of the best fanfics I've ever read. This story is in a class all it's own. The story is an epic in every sense of the word. It's 124 chapters long, 200,000+ words. Each character of KotOR comes to life and his/her individual problems, thoughts, hopes, and dreams are woven into a fitting sequel to the original game. It features Carth/Revan and Bastila/Canderous. The handling of the Bastila/Canderous pairing is worth reading all alone. This story is funny, insightful, and glorious. Reading it is a journey all it's own. Atton's Motivation
The sequel to Atton's Redemption, this is a story that "gets" Atton if ever there was one. Atton, a character never successfully realized in the game, IMHO, comes to life here as an anti-hero whose love for the Exile redeems him and changes him for both better and worse. And there's Atton and Revan!!!! OMG, this is sooo good!!!! It's worthy of multiple exclamation points. Chapter 17, entitled "Lord Revan's Favorite Little Killer" remains my favorite chapter of any story or book ever. Ever. I can't speak highly enough of this story. I have so many good memories from reading it. It made me laugh, smile, and cry. It's so good, I think I'm going to re-read it right now. :)Atton's Redemption
Obviously, all my above comments apply to this story. Atton is fabulous. The story is pure fun to read. I smile just thinking about how much time I spent enjoying this story. It's that good. Silvershadow 667's Atton is a great character to read about and she made the Atton/Exile pairing for me.Future's End
A Revan/Carth romance that also has a sequel. This story gives Revan a history, a complete past, and even a family. It has one of the best backstories and cast of secondary characters around. In Retrospect
Deep and thoughtful look at a Carth/Atton pairing. It's hot and remorseful. Life Waves
by Onasi Magic
A Carth and Revan romance where we find out Revan left between Kotor 1 and 2 because she was pregnant with Carth's child. This is a great romance story, not short on plot.Life Waves Episode II
by Onasi Magic
Revan and Carth fight and try to reconcile while trying to rescue their children. A great plot, so many twists, Onasi Magic really keeps this interesting with a unique plot and great original characters and situations. Lost and Found
The sequel, or third in a trilogy, after Future's End and Slow Dissolve. Atton and Carth team up with old friends to go find Revan and the Exile in the Unknown regions. Slow Dissolve
The sequel to Future's End. This explores what Revan was doing during the time between KotOR 1 and 2. This focuses on Revan and her padawan Dustil. And continues a great plot that's so good I enjoy believeing it more than canon. Untitled
by Amme Moto
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. And if you think women get upset, imagine a scorned former Dark Lord. A funny look on what would happen if Carth and Revan's relationship didn't work out. Will of the Force
by Rian Sage
An indepth and extremely well done look at the beginning of KotOR I and the developing Carth/Revan relationship. It departs from canon and it's all the better because of it. All characters are well-written here, Master Zahn particularly. It's funny and it has a very well realized, wise-cracking, stubborn, too-strong-for-her-own-good Revan.
