This is just a little entry to talk about how proud I am of my boyfriend. (We've been together for 3 years, but he's been very busy lately, so he's getting more posts written about him than normal. )
My boyfriend is a huge fan of WWE wrestling. (Yes, I am well aware of all the stereotypes about WWE wrestling and its fans. After watching him watch wrestling for 3 years, i can tell that most of those stereotypes are well-earned. All the matches are fake, so to speak, with pre-determined winners and the story lines are often insultingly stupid or hackneyed. But WWE wrestling is completely aware of it's own obvious flaws and laughs at them. Thus, it's super campy and can almost be intelligent at times, in a strange perverse twist of fate. )
But nevertheless, my boyfriend is a big WWE fan and i not only put up with this, but support it.
And recently, he got picked to write a column for his favorite fan produced newsletter: PW Torch
. The PW Torch newsletter has been published since 1983, I think, and is highly respected in the WWE fan community. He was super excited that his idea for a column was picked and now he'll have a weekly published column in the newsletter he's read for years.
I'm so proud of him about this. It's an awesome moment for a fan, when you get the opportunity to write for a publication that you think really highly of. Writing this column is a labor of love for him and I'm happy to see him so enthusiastic about writing again.
His column will be about holding the WWE writers accountable for their crazy-unbelievable plots, Chevy-Suburban-size plot holes, and comic-book style retconning logic.
